Fourth Lot Winery

Fourth Lot Winery

The Farmhouse of El Cuarto Lote, also known as Arrabal del Conjuro, dates back to 1713, as does the urban complex of Nuevo Baztán, built by the visionary Juan de Goyeneche, royal advisor. The Farmhouse, with warehouses and a well, appears in the first Cadastre of Ensenada. Its thick walls kept the wine jars that Goyeneche began to make in 1715 cool. Our wines rest again on those same walls.

A cat appears vigilantly on the Fourth Lot labels in memory of the witch and lady of Valmores. The cat has also been a symbol of Madrid since a soldier of Alfonso VI, King of Castile, Guzmán de la Vallina, back in 1083, climbed the Mayrit wall like a feline to allow the capture of the Muslim fortification.

The Cuarto Lote winery, which produces, ages, matures and bottles, is located in buildings built in the early 18th century and listed as historical heritage. This makes use of the resources of a three-hundred-year-old agricultural complex. Its very wide walls and the old well with running water preserve the temperature of the wines.
