Description

Miyagikyo malts are described as elegant and fruity. Made with light malted barley, with and without peat, whiskeys distilled in stills heated with indirect steam express characteristic fruit and a delicate texture on the palate.

Miyagikyo Single Malt is a range of single malt whiskeys from the Miyagikyo distillery. Nikka founder Masataka Taketsuru chose a valley in Miyagi Prefecture for his second distillery, which began operations in 1969. His goal was to create a complete contrast between the two distilleries, Miyagikyo and Yoichi, with different natural environments and production methods.
